Latest Updates from Our Project:

Greetings from Gen Con!
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Aug 03, 2019 at 12:09:50 AM

Just wanted to send out a quick text updated while we're at Gen Con. As mentioned in the comments, we met with our manufacturer yesterday and they confirmed that production for The Shared Dream, Covens, and all related material is complete!

Once we're back from the convention, we will be able to finalize the details of freight, shipment, and fulfillment. While it takes time for freight to be sorted, loaded, and sent all over the world, we're super excited that fulfillment is on the horizon!

In about two weeks we'll have another update discussing the logistics/freight process in depth, along with providing everyone with next steps, such as locking shipping addresses.

As a final note, if you happen to be at Gen Con, please stope by Booth #1254 and say hello! You'll get to check out a demo copy of Covens, and we'll be able to say thank you for your support in person!

June Production Update
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 23, 2019 at 08:50:45 PM

Hey all! The team is all back from Origins, and we have a final copy of The Shared Dream 2nd Edition in tow! We're really happy with the way the base game has turned out and we think that it accomplishes our main goals of this reprint. The game has a bit more polish and shine, giving it an upgraded table presence and a more high-end feel. The game-play related updates, while subtle, will also improve your experience. We're especially fond of the new Shadow Dials--they're more readable, their starting value is more obvious, and the art has been adjusted. That's right--the Shadows have gotten their faces back!

Please check out the photos at the end of the update for more details and to check out some of the finished product.

Covens also looks great--the solo Dream Journal and the interconnected multiplayer scenarios will serve as a great roadmap towards the future of the Shared Dream, enabling us to tell deeper stories while maintaining interesting board game mechanics.

We did, somewhat unfortunately, discover an error in the Covens production. Thankfully, it was a small error that we were immediately able to fix--two of the token sheets had their art transposed, meaning the fronts and backs are mismatched. The problem has already been rectified, but it does mean that we must restart production on the corrected component and assemble new Covens boxes with the corrected material.

Our manufacturer has told us that production will last another 30 days, meaning that everything should be complete by the end of July. While the delay is regrettable, we're glad this error was caught in time to be corrected.

While we are in this time delay, we are also researching to see if there is anything we can do on our side to speed up fulfillment to try to get everything into your hands as soon as possible. While our current fulfillment process works well, if there's anything we can reasonably do to make it better, we will!

We will keep you updated if there are any changes to the production schedule or our fulfillment plans.

Production/Fulfillment Update
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 02, 2019 at 02:29:40 AM

Hey all,

A quick production update for you all. Unfortunately, there has been a slight production delay which is pushing back delivery.

The good news is that there are no problems or issues that have come up in production thus far. The delay is purely based on volume--since we're reprinting older expansions alongside the new material, our manufacturer is producing 8 different SKUs at the same time.

Since we will be shipping full packages rather than in waves, fulfillment can only start once all of the products have been finished. At the moment, the manufacturer estimates another 2-3 weeks of production time.

We know that delays are disappointing, but thankfully this is a relatively short one. But we also know that if a delay had to come along, this is the best kind, since this is only a production hiccup rather than an actual manufacturing problem.

On our end, we've been able to change our communication means and schedules to make international communication easier and quicker so that we can give you updates without the lag of days of emails between companies with opposite business hours. We will send out an update in the upcoming week that has a more exact production and delivery timeline, but we wanted to reach out now to let you know what's going on and to explain the delay.

As a final note, we want to thank everyone for your understanding and confidence in us. We know that sitting through delays and waiting for an update is nerve-wracking, but we've received many votes of confidence from our backers during the delay. It's a great and honest reminder that this process wouldn't be possible without you.

Speak to you all soon.

Schedule Update/Kickstarter Exclusive Coven Info!
about 5 years ago – Mon, Apr 29, 2019 at 01:52:41 AM

Hello dreamers!

While we've popped up in the comments here and there, we know it's been a while since our last update. To be honest, this has been a case of 'no news is good news.' While there has been some back and forth on QA and contract questions, the process has been going along smoothly.

As per our latest conversation with our manufacturer, fulfillment is still set to start at the end of May. Fulfillment will start mostly in Asia, with the rest of the fulfillment process continuing throughout June. Freight can be a finicky thing which could lead to a slight variance in the delivery schedule, but barring unforeseen circumstances in that area, that will be our timeline.

As we get closer to fulfillment, we will have better, tighter time frames that we'll be able to report to you in further updates.

Outside of fulfillment news, we wanted to show you the Coven mat for your Kickstarter Exclusive Coven--Circle of the Unseen Moon! This name was a big winner, receiving nearly double the amount of votes as the runner-up.

While Covens are completely optional, they offer a great layer of replayability to scenarios by offering up new strategies and challenges for the players. In the case of the Circle of the Unseen Moon, players can rely a bit more on Artifacts than they normally would. Of course, since they are now gaining Nightmare at a faster rate, those free Artifacts can be the difference between life and death. Finally, the Lunar Blessing ritual can really give the players a strong push ahead, if they're willing to let fate decide!

This combination of changes requires players to be a bit more adaptable and to think on their feet rather than rely solely on the more reliable ways of spending Conviction.

As a final note, we want to thank you for your patience. We know that a Kickstarter being quiet can be scary,  and you have all been exceedingly calm and kind in both public and private communications with us. We promise to return your consideration in kind by being more vocal and accessible, even if it's just to touch base and let you know how things are going beyond having an exacting timeline.

BackerKit Locks March 1st!/ February Status Update
about 5 years ago – Tue, Feb 26, 2019 at 11:08:20 PM

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a quick reminder that we'll be closing the pledge manager at the end of this week, so please have all of your information filled in and your add-ons selected. Feel free to message us if you have any questions or need any help with the process!

As far as the project goes, everything is coming along at a great pace. All of the changes and new content for the base game are finished and edited. We've really been putting the manual through the wringer since we want to make sure that the rules are easier to understand and laid out in a clearer format. We think the current changes are a big help, but we're continuing to test, edit, and tweak the manual as the rest of the process continues.

When it comes to Covens, the 2 new multiplayer scenarios are complete and the Covens themselves are continuing to undergo some stress tests to make sure they're interacting with all of the other aspects of the game correctly. So far we think the Covens are a really fun addition that add another layer of replayability to the game.

All of the writing and editing for the solo material is complete and we are now in the process of fine-tuning some mechanics to make sure the gameplay matches the top-notch writing we've been able to include in the solo game book.

As a final little teaser (spoiler warning!), check out one of the new Epilogue cards for Beast at the Door. This was one of the most common requests we received after the release of the first edition and we're glad to have been able to include them.
